Proverbs 16:18
New King James Version (NKJV)
18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
This very true, so many times have we heard on the news of how some wealthy person who is prideful and depends on money as though it were a God? Then when the money is gone and financial problems have come and they lose everything including their pride. These individuals are so prideful they feel that without money they have no hope so they take their own life and often time the lives of their family members. This only one only example of how pride can destroy. In this example pride caused the person to place his hope in earthy thing(s), such money, but when faced with financial ruin pride went and destruction came. Blessed are those who are not prideful or puffed up but are humble and put their faith and hope in God.
