If My Words Could Speak

the musings of a peculiar poet….

When you are convinced of a LIE, it is certainly impossible for you to recognize the TRUTH. NOW the question is then how do we determine the TRUTH, since it would seem that there are sooo many so called “truths”. Regardless of ones background, ethnicity, or socioeconomic station in life, we are all now living in the dispensation (time, age) were God has revealed Himself — His Truth through His Son – Jesus Christ. There is NO way around this fact. We can pontificate, elaborate, and perhaps even adjudicate this fact and if we fall upon any other answer or variant thereof then we have accepted a LIE!

JESUS said, I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, no one comes to the Father except by me. John 14:6

Now if this reality is inconceivable or unacceptable to you, then you would have to ask yourself — Why is that? Until then ponder on this statement…

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish , neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. John 10:27-29

May those who have an ear, HEAR what the Spirit of the Lord is Saying!

Much Love and may God richly Bless You & Yours

Until Next Time….

I have come to realize that a writer’s life can sometimes be very interesting to say the least and at other times can seem to be very ominous. Living in a state of trying to put words to thoughts, feelings, or concepts can move one to become pensive and if one is not careful it can alter the mood or even give the impression that one’s mood isn’t stable.

Pensive – thoughtful, meditative, thinking, brooding, pondering, contemplative, preoccupied, lost in thought….

After a long sabbatical, we have entered into another level of biblical study and learning. It is truly amazing how God can redeem lost time as if you’ve never detoured or paused from movement. When it is time to get back on the saddle, no matter how far you’ve strayed or what amount of time it takes for you to mount again, He transports you exactly to where you need to be.

I am pondering today’s lesson on: The True Significance of the Marriage Covenant. This is a lesson my father has taught extensively, however today it has moved me again to meditate not only on the purpose, structure, and inner workings of marriage but also on how man’s tradition has intruded on the sanctity of marriage. This intrusion no doubt has one diabolical culprit at its base and that is our enemy – satan. It is his aim to pervert and misconstrue the very fundamental workings of the Marital Covenant, which is instituted and ordained solely by the only True & Living God – we can clearly see satan’s plan of attack in the garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1-7) God’s aim is to demonstrate something somewhat of a mystery to us regarding this wonderful thing He’s created – Marriage. (Ephesians 5:31-33) Out of marriage comes the family and out of the family He builds His Kingdom. The enemy relies on our ignorance, self- ambitions, & our own lusts to implement his plan to overthrow God in our own heart as well as the hearts of others. (James 1:13-16) If he can get us to stray away from the revealed Truth and replace it with whatever version we contrive with our minds and/or hands, it can appear that he has succeeded. This we know is TRULY a lie! Our enemy is NOT winning and will never win! There is one thing that is very apparent and true and that is, if we don’t acquire the mind of Christ wherefore we can know what and how to operate our life according to His plans in this world — We will definitely partake in the same LOSE the enemy is in right NOW and forever.

God is saying, “My people perish for the lack of knowledge and because you rejected my knowledge, I will reject you, and because you have forgotten my laws, statutes & precepts you will no longer have an audience with me and I will forget your children!” Hosea 4:6

We – the Church MUST repent and move back to the TRUTH!

When the Lord permits, I will forward information to where you can hear and/or read future lessons facilitated by Apostle W. D. Carter III, overseer & founder of Cross of Calvary Deliverance Ministries & Cross of Calvary International Bible College.

Until then… Be Blessed in the ONLY TRUTH!  VMarie

Yes it is me… the peculiar poet… with my rambling musings…. o_0  I am coming at you guys a little different because I can! 🙂 No seriously — I have taken yet another break not to find myself as it were, but to focus on school, work, school and work… need I say more? I haven’t had much time or strength to focus on my passion(s) — which are writing, creating ideas, AND inspiring others. That reality has had me a bit troubled…. I analyzed the last 3 months and 5 days, which are both significant numbers to me. (thanks Orlanda!!) and all the “hard work” I’ve put in and it has NOT really pushed me closer to my goals. (at least in my opinion) It has however bought me closer to the realization that I cannot figure out exactly how the Lord has my life planned. BUT I do know what it is He has birthed me to do! That battle is won! The great thing about this walk with Him is that He will NEVER allow us to stray too far off course. Although our eyesight might get blurred by all of this other stuff going on, pretty soon we will reach up and start rubbing our eyes again to regain focus. So I am singing, “I can see clearly now….” you know the rest!

Listen! Oh wait… you are reading this. Well READ THIS!!!

It is time for us to stop making excuses and just do it! Just DO IT!!! None of us are getting any older. By the time you finish reading this you will be approximately two hundred and ten seconds older. SO, get up from that bed of affliction [distress, complaint, infirmity, problem, burden, difficulty, trouble, hardship, pain] PICK ONE — You are in there somewhere…. I repeat get up from that bed of affliction and MAKE           that MOVE!  The first thing you have to change is your MIND because guess what the problems never cease! With every level there are definitely new challenges. And with every challenge there is an opportunity to learn and grow in HIM.

So now that you’ve shaken yourself let me be the first to say Happy New Year! I won’t get into the history of it all .. BUT technically the New Year actually began April 1 (do the research). Consider this… how can something be new when it is still dead, cold, and has no growth …..  get it? …. Hope so! So it’s been 3 months 5days. Those numbers are significant — 3 is my favorite number. It has much meaning in my life but more specific to my relationship to the LORD, it represents the Holy Trinity — Father, Son, Holy Ghost. The number 5 represents the number of grace. I am ever so thankful of the Grace that God bestowed on the World when He gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins AND on the 3rd day He rose with ALL power in His hands. That 3rd day is VERY important by the way!

So let’s focus on the unmerited gift that was given to us — Jesus and what His Resurrection actually means. It is certainly is not about eggs, bunnies, baskets, and new clothes and if I stepped on your toes — I AM NOT APOLOGIZING! We tend not to really think about the actually pain and horror Jesus had to endure for OUR sins  because quite frankly it is an experience that we could not even fathom and innately we know it should have been us! This is why I am thanking Him for His GRACE & MERCY!

Please take this opportunity to re-focus on His goodness, re-direct your path, re-start your mind and celebrate the fact that because of Jesus you are able to have the re-birth experience!

Until Next Time……

As a culture, we rely on our strength to get us through. It is startling to know what we really feel about showing our weaknesses. Many of us were raised that we should only show our strengths and to display any form of weakness is a definite sign of poor character & lack of leadership. Indirectly, we are taught to bully and to taunt those who, in our opinions, exemplify the inferior strait of ‘weakness’. Here is a definition of the word weakness: (noun)

1. the state or quality of being weak; lack of strength, firmness, vigor, or the like; feebleness.

2. an inadequate or defective quality, as in a person’s character; slight fault or defect: to show great sympathy for human weaknesses

Today I read something that not only solidified my relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ, it also comforted me and gave me a sense of peace. A peace the Word of God says that only can come from Him … a peace that surpassing all understanding.

Philippians 4:7

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The devotional I read today reminded me that I should not fear my weaknesses for in them the Lord has the perfect platform to show HIS strength! Walking in our human strength only says that we refuse to trust and lean on the Lord. We are saying to him our own ways are greater than His. How foolish is that!? When we actually embrace the reality that in Him is the only place we can have true STRENGTH, then and only then will we be STRONG! Strength defined: (noun)

1. the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor.

2. mental power, force, or vigor.

3. moral power, firmness, or courage.

4. power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc.

Only in His strength, wisdom and grace, can we overcome the world, the flesh, & the adversary. Only by walking in His strength can put us in the place to freely relinquish all control to Him and forces us to walk in the full confidence of Christ which makes us what? — STRONG! So glory not in what your human strength can produce but glory in the Power of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

…Is VMarie???

Yes, Yes, and Yes… I have been at it again. I am here! Really I am. I offer no excuses 🙂 I can give you a ton of reasons .. but I will not … No I won’t! 😛 I will say this when it rains it pours … and this rain is a very good rain!

It’s funny when I am not writing … I am always thinking of the next topic I could write about or should write about… and when the time comes the thoughts seem so in that moment and not relevant to “right now”. Now I know that is not really true BUT in my writing mind it matters.  So that leads me straight into this saying — we  have heard it over and over again …

Never Put Off Tomorrow What You Know Dag On Well You Should Be Doing Today — Cuz When Tomorrow Comes… Well You Know You Ain’t Gonna Do It!!

Well, ok I know it doesn’t actually go like … just a little VMarieism…  But the point is when you get the urge, the notion, the leading to do something we must MOVE. Can you count the times when you got the inner push to do something and instead of moving you hesitated — were slow — just plain ‘ole PROCRASTINATED!

Procrastination is the killer of dreams and if unchecked it will no doubt put you in direct disobedience with The Lord.

pro·cras·ti·nate [prō krásti nàyt, prə krásti nàyt]

(past and past participlepro·cras·ti·nat·ed, present participlepro·cras·ti·nat·ing, 3rd person present singularpro·cras·ti·nates)

transitive and intransitive verb
postpone doing something: to postpone doing something, especially as a regular practice

[Late 16th century. < Latin procrastinat- , past participle of procrastinare “put off until tomorrow” < cras“tomorrow”]

So let’s get off the band wagon of being a procrastinare …. and get into action! I won’t offer you any 12 step program because there is really only ONE and that is REPENT! True repentance puts us in a place where we turn from what keeps us stagnate and out of His perfect Will.  It– repentance —  allows us to be transparent with most importantly ourselves. because a liar will never tarry in His sight! So … GET OFF OF THAT COUCH IN YOUR SPIRIT, YOUR HEART & YOUR MIND and get to MOVING toward what and where God has called you to BE through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Until Next Time… Bask In His Presence & Be Blessed!

The Word of the Day:

TRANSFORMATION

trans·for·ma·tion [trànsfər máysh’n]

(plural trans·for·ma·tions)

noun
1. complete change: a complete change, usually into something with an improved appearance or usefulness

Microsoft® Encarta® 2006. © 1993-2005 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

From the Greek

metamorphoō
met-am-or-fo’-o
From meta (met-ah) and morphoō (mor-fo’-o); to transform (literally or figuratively “metamorphose”): – change, transfigure, transform.
We ought to be transformed DAILY! This is my prayer…. join me.
Lord! Help me to be transformed to Your image. Every aspect of my being was designed by you Oh Lord & I submit to Your will & not my own. As I ingest Your Word, I will begin to have the revelation of Your Word and how to apply it to my everyday life. I know this will then allow me to make different choices… God-infused choices.
Lord I will change my actions & You will change me!
AMEN!
VMarie

Today’s Word for Today!

PERPEND

verb
:
to reflect on carefully : ponder
:
to be attentive : reflect
I have been in this place for a couple weeks and it has resulted in pretty much a blank page! 🙂 Basically I have been reflecting on what is next … Sometimes we can get so much into REFLECTION, PONDERING that it leads to PROCRASTINATION.  This state of reflection is to put us in a place to hear directions or instructions from GOD and then we are suppose to take action and MOVE!
We begin to procrastinate when we second guess or DOUBT the directions/instructions that He has given us.  After He has told you — Trust Him & JUST DO IT!

For those of you who don’t know … I live not too far from the epicenter of the 2011 East Coast earthquake and on the outskirts of Ms Hurricane Irene…  My plan around Day 25 or so was to end  by giving everyone a break down of discoveries during my August Restart AND also present a piece I am working on.  I did say … my plan. We all know that plans are needed BUT can be changed at a moments notice. (I am still working on the piece… PRAY!)  Overall I have been successful in my efforts to restart .. refocus on some things.  I really believe that we must do this often! Especially when it appears that everything has gotten jumbled up or mundane. We must restart to ensure that we get back online to where God would have us to be.

I am very much excited by the out pour of all you who contacted me via comments and/or email to let me know you are encouraged by the words that the Lord has given me to share. Trust me when I say I am humbled by that and understand that I must keep going and not to stop or or allow things to hinder this flow…. b/c trust me as a writer that ‘flow’ can come to a screeching HALT at any given moment.   I am very much determined today more than every to “keep pressing”! Thanks again for your support and look forward to  great things to come!

I thought it was appropriate for me to end this restart with a Word of the Day:  Today’s Word is METTLE

mettle\MET-ul\

noun

1 a :vigor and strength of spirit or temperament

b :staying quality : stamina

2 quality of temperament or disposition

Being on your mettle would mean one was ready and determined to do your best. This word mettle is the variant of the word metal and also is synonymous with courage. If you were described as being a mettlesome person, you would be classified as someone who is COURAGEOUS!

It is very important for us to maintain due diligence in whatever we aspire to do ESPECIALLY if what you are presenting is from the Lord. But most importantly, everything that we do —  must be and should be done unto the Lord! When we present our life, our work, our task unto Him it is HE that gets the full Glory and not ourselves.  Also, while maintaining this STAMINA we are to endure hardness as a good soldier. We all know that even though the earth will move and the rains, winds and floods will come, we must remain standing steadfast and immovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.  (1 Cor 15:58)

This fruit in which the Lord is speaking is NOT a house, car, monies, or earthly influence NO — this fruit is simply a place in Eternity!

Do You Know Him?? Well Get to Know Him — Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Until Next Time…. Bask In His Presence & Be Blessed!

Days 13 – 20

I’ve written and rewritten this post several times simply b/c I feel like I have not reached the destination of … “On the Other Side”. It has clearly been a busy and rough week for me.  Which is ok… b/c during those challenging times you learn so much about your situation, other people and the most important thing — you learn so much about yourself. Let’s face it — if you are not honest with YOU about YOU then who else can YOU be honest with??? Ok.. now let’s move past this honesty session we are having with ourselves and move into the reality of CHANGE. Yes! The big “C” word. The word change can be used as a verb (action) or noun (state of being).  I want to elaborate a little on this word as a noun.

noun (pluralchang·es)
1. making or becoming different: alteration, variation, or modification, or the result of this

  • There’s been a change of plan.
2. exchange or replacement: an exchange, substitution, or replacement of something or somebody
3. variance from routine: a variance from a routine or pattern, especially a welcome one

  • I could use a change.
4. fresh set of something: a different, clean, or fresh set of something, especially clothes
5. transition from something: a shift from one state, stage, or phase to another

  • a change in our thinking

Microsoft® Encarta® 2006. © 1993-2005 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

Most of us don’t embrace the reality that change is something that is constantly around us and will go on WITH or WITHOUT our participation.  Change causes us to re-calibrate how we are to BE. I’ve been speaking about transitioning b/c that is what I have been going through in my personal life. As I look back —- I actually been in this place of transition for nearly 3 yrs. I consider myself a person who embraces change wholeheartedly and that can be a positive and sometimes a negative…. however after careful investigation there are some core fundamental things about VMarie that I find myself not willing to change…. and again this could be considered a positive & a negative. For this post I am speaking to the NEGATIVE aspect of not transforming to the state of CHANGE.  After you’ve discovered whatever that thing or issue is that is keeping you from the state of being changed, you MUST do something about it! If not — your state of BEING a vessel of change …  a new creation … or changed will be interrupted and sometimes corrupted.

Now the DOING SOMETHING is the kicker, because when we are faced with the challenge of ourselves the issues and problems seem insurmountably. That is only a smoke screen…  a facade… a trick of  that part of us that don’t really want to change … called the flesh… our carnality… our human nature! Facing the REAL you is 1/2 the victory won! Now most of the time when we experience issues… challenges.. problems… or need to change we always give credit to our enemy as being the culprit behind these problems. We GIVE HIM TOOO MUCH CREDIT! Now let me get this straight I do understand that the adversary of our soul is real and fully aware of his plots and schemes BUT the real truth is we use him as a scapegoat to resist change and ownership of the blunders we created in our own lives! OK … the DOING something is accepting what you did or could have done …. meditate on why and getting the feedback from GOD and this feedback ought to be founding in unadulterated truth which is HIS WORD! This is the ONLY way we can get back to the state of change we should be in.

I recently was given an awesome analogy regarding making wrong moves, taking wrong directions and in this case refusing to CHANGE our state of being… Most of us are familiar with a GPS. GPS stands for Global Positioning System. When using a GPS you can make a wrong turn or detour from the original destination — and you hear this — RECALCULATING! Isn’t this the same with God! We have an Eternal Infallible Long-suffering GPS  —  God’s Positioning System! He is always there to assist us with our change… our transition to ensure that we get back on course. Our part is making sure that we have upgraded our software to get His directions when we have drifted off course. He knows what our end (change) will be and what it looks like. It is incumbent on us to embrace & participate in the often times painful transformation of change that is destined for our lives. Although this pain is excruciating— we must BE CHANGED!

CHANGE ……  TO BE or NOT TO BE that is the question!

Until next time…. Bask In His Presence & BE Blessed!

Day 12

If it were not for the storm there would be no need for sunshine! VMarie

Is it not amazing how after a storm it is always this serene calm feeling. Sometimes we even get to experience a rainbow and/or birds singing and chirping away. Based on the calmness of it all one would not know that the Tsunami of Life had just hit … This is the final part of the In Flight Turbulence posting …

When we embark on a God ordained Life Assignment there are soo many facets to completing the task. God is so awesome that ONE single act impacts many people. It is like a rippling effect. If you can remember in my previous post I talked about getting prepared to move to the next level is only a success when you have gotten rid all unneeded baggage. If you are carrying things that are not meant for the trip and/or your next destination guess what you will be stuck at the terminal unable to board the plane — NO FLIGHT! The process of removing the extra baggage in our lives is a freeing & liberating experience. When I decided to actually let things go in the natural AND in the spiritual context I actually felt light. Although I am working on my discoveries about VMarie… well should I say .. I am allowing the Lord to work on me because we CANNOT ‘change’ ourselves per-say that is God’s job. We can however change how we THINK & RESPOND and fundamentally we can those instructions and examples out of the Word of God. Without acknowledging what the issues are in our life (self examination) and figuring out what things are not pleasing to Him (repentance) we cannot experience restoration and also, we cannot be effective on our Life Assignment.

When you experience this transformation of course there will be many, many turbulent times.  We MUST prepare ourselves for this reality that we WILL feel and experience In Flight Turbulence along the way. I’ve been in a plane — a commuter plane I might add! and there was a terrible storm, lightning etc…. It was one of the most scariest feelings and do you not know that I prayed like never before lol  BUT eventually I got over  on the other side….  Over on the Other Side next posting… 🙂

Until Next Time — Bask in His Presence & Be Blessed!
